Review : Pal Motors - Novel By Devraj Singh Kalsi

Introduction :

Devraj Kalsi is a Kolkata based senior copywriter. His short fiction and essays are being regularly published in various offline and online newspapers, journals and literary websites. Pal Motors is his first novel published by Half Baked Beans.

The Story:

Pal Singh, the only patriarch in his family runs a motor spare parts shop in downtown of Kolkata city. Suddenly he passes away and is survived by his mother Bibi Amrit Kaur fondly called Biji, his wife Nasib and his daughter Preet. The whole plot revolves around right from the funeral process to the conclusion of Bhog ceremony. The core of the story is the discussion and communication among the three; Biji, Nasib and Preet unfolding the layers of their characters assisted by Nasib's brother Monty, Biji's cousin sister Charno, Biji's friend Mrs Chawla and two other relatives Mr and Mrs Balbir Singh and Preet's college friends Anu, Reshma and her boyfriend Abhishek. Their maid servant Durga is a special character eavesdropping and passing the information among them. With the death of Sardar Pal Singh, skeletons of the three protagonists pertaining to their individual characteristics and identities start to tumble down gradually assisted by the fringe characters as mentioned above.To know more - read Pal Motors, the novel.

Strength Of The Novel :

The core strength of the novel is its language and powerful narration. Since the writer himself is a senior copywriter, he has proved his mastery over English language which is quite fluidic, flawless, and simple. The crux of the novel is the interpersonal emotions, feelings, liking, disliking, prejudices, mutual respect, mutual criticism, mutual skepticism and cynicism among the three female members ; Biji, Nasib and Preet as the mother-in-law, daughter-in-law and daughter respectively, which are described in a powerful manner through their communication, that too in an amusing way. The novel is satirical but humorous and the reader enjoys while going through it. The novel is supported by the brilliant use of idioms and phrases, metaphors and similes and spiced up with popular Punjabi proverbs which entertain the reader on regular intervals.

Weakness Of The Novel :

Since the novel has no defined story line and chiefly depends on the narration and communication among all the characters just situation wise and as the plot remains confined to the ceremonies of Path and Bhog after Pal Singh's death and hardly ventures out of the premises of the house, it becomes quite monotonous and a tad boring at times. A few subplots like Preet's initiative for an ad of the obituary of his father and hospitalization of one of the Pathis could have been done away without snatching away the beauty of the novel. That way it could have been presented in a more crispy format. The other issue is its title Pal Motors which doesn't suits being it a compelling description of human emotions and not anything related to motor spare parts. Better to call it The Pals or The House Of Pals.

My Take :

This is the first novel I read which is short of a definite and defined story line devoid of high stakes, mind blowing conflicts, surprising twists and turns, still capable of keeping the reader hooked till last. I thoroughly enjoyed it and even learnt a lot from the dexterity with which the author has successfully presented it. It's an innocent, virgin, pure and straight tale of the characters which is quite impressive. I wish to read more titles from the desk of the author DevRaj Kalsi. All the best bro!!

Review : It's My Love Story By Ajitabha Bose

Introduction:
After trying his hand in pocket books, Ajitabha Bose has come up with this very first of his novel which is the ultimate destination and dream of any given writer. This book has been published by Author's Ink Publication, Rohtak, Haryana, headed by Mr Aniket Kapoor. Primarily it's a love story unfolding in the backdrop of IMC, Delhi, the alma mater of the writer. What happened in this institute between 2010 and 2018, read the book which is available at Amazon.in and Paperfox.in.

The Story:
After getting admission into IMC, Delhi for a diploma course in Mass Communication, Aditya Mukherjee becomes friends with Vinay Kumar, Imran Khan, Sushant Singh, Smita Sharma and Janvi Kapoor. Where Aditya is a tad fatty and introvert, Janvi Kapoor is a beautiful and extrovert girl. However, bugged by his below average looks and low self esteem, Aditya finds himself misfit not only for Janvi but for any given girl, his plus points are his talent of film making. Eventually, his talent obliges Janvi to feel an attraction towards him and soon they fall in love.
This is a story of ambitions, emotions, dreams fulfilled, unfulfilled and even shattered, success and failures, crush turning into love and lot more. Suddenly something happens and Aditya's life turns upside down in a flash. What happened in this tale of love, explore the book - It's My Love Story.

Strong Areas Of The Book :
The novel has been written in a lucid, simple and soft language. Emotions of all the characters have been captured appropriately gradually building up their characters. The story goes smoothly and gradually progresses towards the end without stretching or dragging and keeps the reader hooked.

Areas Of Improvement: 
Actually, in any given story there remains a scope of improvement. I found this story as a story of almost all the young writers writing their debut novels and because it's oft repeated, it can be said as - old wine kept in new bottle. The description of college life is stereotypical and Ajitabh needs to work upon a new and unique subject for the next project which he will do surely.

My Take: A good story of young people's college-lives may relate and appeal to teens instantly. But,as it's written for a specific age group, it will have to strive hard to make a place among serious and mature readers. Ajitabha has big potential of storytelling and I look forward for his next creation pretty soon.

समीक्षा : सफ़र रेशमी सपनों का - द्वारा वर्षा गुप्ता रैन

प्रस्तावना:
किसी लेखक की भावनाएं जब संगीतमय हो जाती हैं तो कविता का जन्म होता है I जैसे संगीत में सात सुर होते हैं, ठीक वैसे ही कवितायें भी भिन्न-भिन्न लय और ताल के साथ क़दमताल करते हुए लेखक के ह्रदय से निकल कर कागज़ पर उतर जाती हैं I ऐसी ही ढेर सारी छोटी-बड़ी, हंसती, गाती और कभी चीखकर आर्तनाद करती कविताओं का एक संग्रह है - सफ़र रेशमी सपनों का जिसे वर्षा गुप्ता 'रैन' ने बड़ी शिद्दत से लिखा है I

यह एक व्यापक कविता-संग्रह है और वर्षा जी ने इसको दस खण्डों में विभक्त किया है :
दुनिया चाँद सितारों की
सपनों भरा सफ़र
बिना मात्रा की कवितायें
माँ
औरत - शांति या शक्ति
ज़िन्दगी क्या है
कलम और कविता
प्यार एक अहसास
ग़रीबी
सीख ज़िन्दगी की

ये संग्रह लिखते वक़्त वर्षा जी सफ़र निश्चित रूप से बहुत लम्बा रह होगा :
"बात बड़ी महंगी पड़ी, निभी नहीं ये सस्ते में I
मंजिल पर पहुँच कर बतलाऊंगी,
क्या-क्या हुआ था रस्ते में II"

वर्षा जी ने एक नया प्रयोग किया जो ध्यान देने योग्य है - बिना मात्रा की कवितायें :
"कनक सम बदन, रजत सम मन
अधर लगत जब हंसत
लटकन पहन चल मटक मटक..."
भटक मत बहक मत चल फ़लक तक चल II"


माँ के लिए :
सजदे में सर झुकता है तो याद आती है तेरी I
तेरे स्नेह के क़र्ज़ में डूबी है हर सांस मेरी II

पिता के लिए भी :
कुछ दायरे बंदिशें नहीं बंधन हैं
पिता का साया जैसे वृक्ष चन्दन है II

लिखते-लिखते वर्षा जी सच्चे प्यार पर पहुँच जाती है, देखिये :
"बारिश की बूंदों में जो चेहरे के आंसूं पहचाने, वही सच्चा प्यार है I"

लेखिका को पता है कि प्यार में बिछड़ना तो होगा ही इसीलिए समझाती हैं :
वापस न आऊँ तो गम न करना
अपनी यादों के घेरे कम न करना II
मेरा प्यार हमेशा तेरे साथ है
दिल से जुदाई को क़ुबूल न करना II

ये एक सुखद आश्चर्य है कि वर्षा जी ने जीवन के हर पहलू पर लिखा है जिसमे चाँद-तारे, सुख दुःख, माँ-बाप, भाई-बहन, प्रेमी-प्रेमिका, प्रेम-अप्रेम, मिलन-जुदाई सभी विषय समाहित हैं. एक समग्र, संवेदनशील, चिर-चिंतातुर लेखक ही ये असाधारण काम कर सकता है जो वर्षा जी ने बखूबी कर दिखाया है I मैं इसके लिए वर्षा जी को ह्रदय से बधाई और शुभकामानाएं देता हूँ कि वो सतत इसी प्रकार अपनी लेखनी से रंग भरती रहें I

हिचकियाँ :
एक लेखक के लिए संवेदनशील होना और भावनाओं को अपने लेखन और कविताओं में उतारने की कला रखना बहुत ज़रूरी है जो वर्षा जी में शत-प्रतिशत विद्यमान है लेकिन इसी के साथ-साथ भाषा का पूर्ण ज्ञान जो कुछ अलग हट के हो और उचित और विशिष्ट शब्दों का चयन जो आपकी लेखनी में धार और विशेषता प्रदान करे, बहुत ज़रूरी है I मैं वर्षा जी से कहना चाहूँगा की आप अपने लेखन को खूब परिमार्जित करें फिर दूसरा संग्रह लेकर आयें जिससे समकालीन कवियों में आपको यथोचित स्थान मिल सके, जिसके आप हक़दार हैं I इसके अतिरिक्त इस कविता-संग्रह को दोबारा संपादित करें क्योंकि इसमें बहुत सारी अशुद्धियाँ रह गयीं हैं जिससे पाठक का पढ़ने का आनन्द और तारतम्य टूट जाता है I

Review : Love Jihad Novel by Sunil Sinha

Introduction :
Nowadays, very frequently we are hearing this phrase - Love Jihad. These two words have different meanings and connotations as far as love and jihad both are concerned. But can there be some reality in this kind of jihad perpetrated by a particular religious community for unbelievable ulterior motives - read this novel written by Sunil Sinha who's penned Guruji's Ashram and I'm Not A Terrorist, all available on Amazon.in

The Story:
Rachna is a happy-go-lucky college going girl. She's friends with Julia who's an extrovert and an outrageous girl. Julia discusses all kinds of topics with Rachna under the sun. Rachna, though a reserved girl belonging to a descent family, listens her experiences with boys and how frequently she changes them after enjoying sex with them. Somewhere Rachna finds herself a tad backward and feels encouraged and instigated to have a boyfriend very soon. Incidentally, Rachna gets a latest model of a mobile phone from her parents on her birthday and a new saga of love, deceit, humiliation and torture begins as soon as she befriends with a boy on Facebook named Mohit. Who's Mohit and what's his real identity and motive tells the novel further.

Merits : The story is tightly woven by the writer who successfully unfolds the whole story in two parts: one dealing with the love affair between Rachna and Mohit till her elopement with him and the other dealing afterwards investigations. The plot is so tight that I barely found a sentence not connected and not contributing to the main story. This is the biggest plus point of this novel. Language is simple and words have been selected to the fittest. I congratulate Sunil for this acumen.

Demerits : The first one is the cover which could have been more attractive and intriguing. The second one it needs meticulous editing to make it perfect.

My Take : A unique, relevant, eyeopener for the kids and the parents both warning them for the unforeseen dangers involved with the social media intermingling. The kids are advised not to betray their parents just for the people who are in virtual world, are unknown, have multiple personalities and harbor ulterior motives. Beware!! A must read.

My Favorite Character: DSP Imran Khan - straightforward, upright, unbiased, impartial, helpful, polite and a patriot.

Review : Silent Invaders Novel By Shree

Introduction:
The novel Silent Invaders is a powerful story revolving around Lahiri family and a few murders in the city of Durham, a picturesque county in the Northeast of England. It is written by Ms. Shree and published by Amazon Kindle available in Kindle and Paperback both.

Theme : The theme of the novel is MPD created by sexual and mental atrocities inflicted on children and the plot is beautifully woven by the writer.

Story: This is the story of a girl Sana who's adopted by Sahana and Saatwik Lahiri based at Durham. Suddenly a few murders take place in quick succession and police arrests Sana as her fingerprints matches with the fingerprints of the killer - supposed to be a serial killer. And the happy family goes to smithereens and their life turns upside down with their dear daughter's arrest for the culpable homicide of four people - Nathan Brown, Mike Smith, Daniel Neils and Roberto.
What happens afterwards and whether there's some connection among all these murders and whether Sana is a killer or someone else and whether Lahiris will succeed in saving their daughter Sana - read the compelling novel Silent Invaders.

Merits: The strength of the novel is its language which is quite fluidic and the style unique. The novel, in fact a novella, is tightly scripted and whole story told in a succinct but appropriate manner with all the details pertaining to unfolding of the mystery maintaining the thrill; the necessary ingredient.

Demerits: It could have been presented in a more realistic manner heightening the intrigue, curiosity and the thrill content had the author adopted the actual judicial procedures. Taking the polygraph test and consulting the psychiatrists on their own by the Lahiris and their solicitor without getting the permission of the judge seems procedural lapses. Though it has no adverse bearing on the whole story.
The other is the chapters dealing with the adoption process. They could have been trimmed as they're hardly related to the whole saga of serial killings except that Sana was an adopted child.

My Take : Author Shree has done a wonderful job by writing this novel which is an eyeopener for the society telling the dangerous effects of child abuse and how it can ruin the whole persona of a child and how far it can be harmful to the society at large. Congratulations to her. A must read.

Review: Unbudgeted Innocence By Gaurav Sharma

This book is published by Tanvi Publication, Mumbai. As far as the writer is concerned, Gaurav Sharma is a well known novelist having Love @ Airforce, Rapescars and Dawn at Dusk to his credit. All have been well received by the readers and reviewed by me.
This is a praiseworthy attempt in another direction - writing children-stories. And I can say he's come out with flying colors with this book penning school-time teenage stories.

Unbudgeted Innocence have ten stories.
The Abandoned Dog shows the craze, love and compassion of children for the animals. Bringing Out The Best In Each Other is quite inspirational for the children telling how they can help each other in improving their weak areas. The Terrific Ten encourages them to read good story-books and to emulate the good ones to some extent for fun. The Wounded Player shows the guts and resolve of a girl to play for her team's prestige even when she's hurt. The Unrequited Friendship is a unique story between two boys which tells not to judge someone too early irrespective of caste and creed. The Biology Project is wonderful explaining the concern between human and animal and of one animal for another fellow animal. The Temple Atop The Hill educates the children not to be superstitious and protect our cultural heritage. Managing The Pocket Money is a story of true innocence highlighting the natural craving for samosas in school going siblings which they fulfill out of their daily pocket money. Guilt unfolds the day-to-day incidents between two friends where one may get injured by the other unintentionally in play ground - an emotional story. The last is The Blue Coat - unfolding the parent-child relationship while dealing with financial matters in the family.

Flaws: Blue Coat may confuse a child in choosing whether to go with the rules or with family's compulsions and flout the rules. Nothing more.

I would like to congratulate Mr. Gaurav Sharma for bringing out such an amazing book with childhood oriented stories admitting that penning such stories is not of everyone's cup of tea, including me. This attempt of his is quite inspirational and encouraging for mainstream writers to write for children also and to revisit and enjoy their own childhood.

जी हाँ मुझे बचपन से ही रंगों से बहुत प्यार रहा है I अक्सर मुझे चित्र बनाना और उनमें रंग भरना आज भी बहुत पसंद है, आज भी मेरे पास मेरे बचपन के रंग रखे हुए हैं और कला के दूसरे क्षेत्र की बात करू तो  6/7 क्लास के दौरान ही मुझे मेरा पहला पुरस्कार एक फिल्म सम्बन्धित प्रश्न पर ही मिला था जिसके कारण ही शायद मैं फिल्म समीक्षा लिखने लगा हूँ और रही बात कला के अन्य शौक की तो मेरी माँ को भी कला मे बेहद रुचि रही है शायद उनके ही कुछ गुण मुझ में समाये हो ।

आपने कंप्यूटर साइंस में बी टेक किया है फिर भी रंगमंच को आपने अपना कैरियर बनाया I क्यों ?

सर,  मैंने बी टेक के दौरान महसूस किया कि मैं एक जगह स्थिर नहीं रह सकता, मेरा कम्पटीशन किसी से नहीं बल्कि खुद से ही है ...मुझे भी वही करना चाहिये जिससे दिल को संतुष्टि मिले और हाँ सर मेरी चाहत है कि लोग मुझे मेरे आर्ट वर्क से ही जाने ।

रंगमंच की विधा दिल्ली और मुंबई जैसे महानगरों में एक आभिजात्य वर्ग की पसंद बनकर रह गयी है I आप मेरठ से हैं और मेरठ जैसे मध्यम श्रेणी के शहरों में रंगमंच का क्या भविष्य है ?

बहुत अच्छा प्रश्न है सर ,रंगमंच की विधा एक क्लास वर्ग तक ही सीमित रह गयी है अगर बात अपने मेरठ शहर की करू  तो अधिकतर लोग इस विधा से अंजान ही है जिसके कई कारण हो सकते है पर दिलचस्प बात ये है कि कुछ क्लास वर्ग के लोग इस दिशा में चाहत रखने के बावजूद  मेरठ जैसे शहर में कहीं न कहीं मजबूरन खो ही जाते हैं ।

क्या आपको लगता है कि निम्न मध्य वर्गीय लोग, जो अधिकतर सिनेमा ही देखना पसंद करते हैं, वो कभी रंगमंच की तरफ़ आकर्षित होंगें? और इसके लिए हमें क्या करना होगा ?

जी मैं यहाँ निम्न मध्य वर्गीय में एक शब्द जोड़ना चाहूंगा 'एक तबका' जिसमे निम्न वर्ग के साथ साथ उच्च वर्ग /पढ़े लिखे दर्शक भी शामिल है वो सभी रंग मंच तो क्या, आर्ट सिनेमा /पैरेलल सिनेमा तक नहीं देखना चाहते, हाँ वो देखते है तो बस कमर्शियल सिनेमा जिस कारण हमारे सिनेमा के स्तर में गिरावट जारी है I रही बात उनके रंगमंच की ओर आकर्षित होने की तो इसके लिये हमें ही रंग मंच की परिभाषा को बदल कर थोड़ा सा कमर्शियल भी करना होगा शायद तभी वो तबका इस ओर भी झुके ।

आप रंगमंच से जुड़े हुए हैं और एक फ़िल्म समीक्षक भी हैं, आपकी नज़रों में किसका पलड़ा भरी है – कला के हिसाब से और पेशे के हिसाब से दोनों में क्या फ़र्क है ?

जी इस प्रश्न का जवाब देना मेरे लिये बेहद कठिन है , कला और पेशे के हिसाब से दोनों ही अपनी जगह स्टीक हैं ,पर ख़ुद को मैं एक फिल्म समीक्षक के नजरिये से देखूं तो दूर दूर तक आपके पाठक वर्ग बन जाते है जिस कारण ही मुझे देश के हरेक कोने से लोगों का प्यार मिल रहा है I लेकिन  रंग मंच एक ऐसा माध्यम है जिसमें आप एक सीमित दायरे में रहकर खुद को निखार पाते है, और पेशे के दृष्टिकोण से देखे तो आजकल तो दोनों में भरपूर मात्रा में अच्छा स्कोप है ।

रंगमच का एक व्यक्ति जब फ़िल्म को देखता है और उसकी समीक्षा करता है, आपको नहीं लगता कि उसका दृष्टिकोण कहीं न कहीं उसकी समीक्षा को प्रभावित कर सकता है I स्पष्ट भाषा में कहें तो भेदभाव पूर्ण भी हो सकता है ? आप इसमें किस तरह से सामंजस्य बिठाते हैं ?

जब हम रंगमंच की दुनिया में होते है तो एक ख्व़ाब में डूबे हुए होते है लेकिन जब समीक्षा होती है तो उस ख्व़ाब के सच हो जाने की हक़ीक़त को लिखना/ बयान करना होता है । स्पष्ट तौर पर कहूँ तो सर आजकल काफी क्रिटिक्स पेड रिव्यु भी करते है जिसमें भेदभाव की भावना अलग ही झलकती है  पर बात मैं स्वयं की करूँ तो मुझे पैरेलल सिनेमा बहुत पसन्द है और मैं आर्ट/ पैरेलल को अपनी सूची में एक प्रेमी के तौर पर सर्वोच्च स्थान पर ही रखता हूँ अब इसको भेदभाव की नजर से देखें या कला के माध्यम से ,ये सामने वाले पर निर्भर करता है ।

आपने साहित्य लेखन में कब क़दम रखा और ये आपके कार्य में कितना सहयोगी है ?

जी बीटेक के दिनों की बात है हम कुछ चुनिंदा दोस्तों ने फेसबुक पर एक ग्रुप बनाया था जिसमें अक्सर हम शौकियाना तौर पर फिल्मों के डायलॉग्स/ समीक्षा लिखते थे, उस वक़्त कतई ये अंदाजा नहीं था कि ये पैशन ही एक दिन प्रोफेशन बन जायेगा और मेरे यहां तक पहुचने का श्रेय मैं  उस ग्रुप के हरेक सदस्य को देता हूँ I खैर इंजीनियरिंग पूरी करने के बाद मेरी कई रचनायें एक काव्य संग्रह में प्रकाशित होना और उसके बाद साहित्य में आगमन 'युवा टैलेंट अवार्ड' की प्राप्ति ने मेरे अंदर एक नयी ऊर्जा का संचार किया और अब निरंतर लिरिक्स लिखना मेरे लिये काफी चुनौतीपूर्ण एवं महत्वपूर्ण भी हो गया है ।

आप फिल्म निर्देशन में भी अपना दख़ल रखते हैं I कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि निर्देशन और  अभिनय दोनों अलग-अलग विधाएं हैं I क्या आप इससे सहमत हैं ? कृपया समझाएं I

जी सर मैंने सहायक निर्देशक का थोड़ा काम किया है जिसमें मैंने निर्देशन से सम्बंधित कई बारीक़ चीज़ो को जाना है , निर्देशन और अभिनय की बात हो तो मैं निर्देशन को अभिनय से ऊपर का दर्जा देना चाहूँगा ।


देखने में आ रहा है कि फिल्म क्षेत्र कुछ लोगों का ही अधिकार क्षेत्र होकर रह गया है और नए लोगों के लिए, विशेषरूप  से नए लेखकों के लिए इसमें कोई स्थान नहीं है I कुछ बड़े कलाकार ये कह भी चुके हैं कि फ़िल्में नायक की वज़ह से चलती हैं, लेखकों की वज़ह से नहीं I आपका इस विषय में क्या कहना है ?



बिलकुल सही कहा सर, जो लोग ये कह रहे है कि फिल्में नायक की वजह से चलती हैं, लेखक की वजह से नहीं उनको यह पता होना बेहद जरूरी है कि एक लेखक ही एक मात्र वो है जो किसी कहानी का पिता और माँ दोनों होता है । आजकल तो सर एक ट्रेंड काफी चल रहा है 'घोस्ट राइटिंग' जिसका सीधा सा मतलब  है नाम किसी का और काम किसी का ...खैर जैसे इंसान को औलाद के सामने झुकना ही पड़ता है उसी तरह से कोई बड़ा कलाकार एक लेखक पर ही अपनी टीस निकालता है।

फिल्म नगरी, जिसे बॉलीवुड के नाम से जाना जाता है , में हम देखते हैं कि एक व्यक्ति ही सब कुछ करना चाहता है – डायरेक्टर से लेकर, लेखक, गीतकार और संगीतकार सब कुछ I ऐसा क्यों और ये फिल्मों को किस दिशा में लेकर जाएगा ?

बेहद स्टीक प्रश्न या कहूँ आपने कहा है एक कड़वा सच ।
जी यहाँ अधिकतर लोगो का ध्येय हो चला है कि हिट होना है बस हिट होना है, चाहे कला को किसी भी रूप में वो परोसे उन्हें ये फर्क नहीं पड़ता कि समाज में इसका क्या दुष्प्रभाव पड़ेगा वैसे सर इसके लिये हम ही स्वयं जिम्मेदार है I अधिकांशतः हमारा समाज आजकल वो सब चीजें स्वीकार करने लगा है जिसको हमारी संस्कृति इज़ाज़त नहीं देती या कहें हमें एक एडल्टहुड / वल्गर की आदत हो गयी है जिसका हालियां उदाहरण कुछ बेतुकी फिल्मो का हिट होना रहा है । और कुछ लोग इसका ही फ़ायदा उठा रहे हैं जो भविष्य में घातक हो सकता है I

आपके अंदर एक लेखक, कवि, कलाकार और गीतकार भी मौज़ूद है, अपने भाव प्रकट करने के लिए आप किस माध्यम को प्राथमिकता देते हैं और क्यों?

हाँ ..मैं अपने भाव एक गीतकार के रूप में व्यक्त करना पसंद करता हूँ जिसको अक्सर मैं इंस्ट्रुमेंटल सुनते वक़्त लिखता हूँ ।


हाल ही में फ़िल्म ‘पद्मावती’ को लेकर एक बड़ी बहस छिड़ गयी है I फ़िल्म का भारी विरोध हो रहा है I क्या एक कमर्शियल फ़िल्म बनाने के लिए इतिहास और उसके पात्रों के चरित्रों से छेड़छाड़ करके मनघढ़ंत चटपटी कहानियां दर्शकों के सामने परोसना सही है ?

जी सर, जैसे हर सिक्के के दो पहलू होते है ठीक उसी तर्ज़ पर पद्मावती को लेकर विरोधाभास जारी है । जहां हम एक तरफ इमेजिनेशन की बात कर रहे है तो दूसरी तरफ पौराणिक इतिहास का जिक्र । यहाँ तक भी कहा जा रहा है ये मलिक मुहम्मद जायसी जी की कविता का एक काल्पनिक पात्र है जिसके सापेक्ष अभी शोध चल रहा है , पर सर मेरे हिसाब से तो जिस किरदार में एक शौर्यगाथा लिखी हो या वो एक प्रेरणादायीं किरदार हो तो उसके चरित्र के साथ छेड़छाड़ करके कमर्शियल परोसना सही नहीं है I सर मैंने कहा ना इसके लिये हम सब स्वयं जिम्मेदार है क्योंकि हमारा एक तबका आर्ट सिनेमा को तरज़ीह न देकर  इसी तरह के कमर्शियल सिनेमा में जकड़ा हुआ है ।




‘अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता’ के नाम पर लोग कुछ भी करने लगते हैं I इसकी आड़ लेकर देशद्रोही नारे लगाना और दूसरे की धार्मिक भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंचाना एक फैशन बन गया है I इस विषय में एक युवा कलाकार और लेखक होने के नाते आपका क्या मंतव्य है ?

'अभिव्यक्ति की आज़ादी' ये शब्द पिछले दो सालों से कुछ ज्यादा ही चर्चा में रहा है ,रही बात धार्मिक भावनाओं को ठेस पहुचाने की, यह ट्रेंड निरंतर अग्रसर है ,यह प्रथा तो हम प्राचीन काल से ही देखते आ रहे है जैसे समुन्द्र मंथन के समय देवों और राक्षसों के मध्य जो विरोधाभास उत्पन्न हुआ था वो बदस्तूर आज भी जारी है भले ही उसका रूप कोई भी हो जो कि सरासर ग़लत है I


कला और साहित्य के क्षेत्र में आने वाली नयी पीढ़ी, जो आपके समकालीन है, को आप क्या सन्देश देना चाहेंगे जिससे वो ठीक तरीके से अपने व्यक्तित्व का विकास और साहित्य में उचित योगदान कर सकें  ?


जी, आजकल हम एक ही भेड़ चाल में चल रहे है अगर मैं अपने समाज की बात करूं तो हम ऐसी सोसाइटी में जी रहे है जहां हर किसी का एक ही तकिया कलाम है - एक अच्छी डिग्री पर नौकरी को ही सलाम है I यह बात मैं किसी के ऊपर नही ख़ुद पर लेता हूँ ,यहां पर एक आर्टिस्ट को उड़ने के लिये उसको आसमान देना तो दूर बल्कि उसके पंख नोचने के लिये  लोग तत्पर रहते है (पर जिक्र करना चाहूंगा मैं अपने कॉलेज के कुछ ख़ास दोस्तों का जो अक्सर मुझे कुछ नया करने के लिये हमेशा प्रेरित करते रहते है ) वैसे सर जो युवा इस क्षेत्र में आना चाहते है मैं उन्हें यही कहना चाहूंगा कि सबसे पहले खुद से ही बात करियेगा ...की आपको कौन सा आसमान चाहिये और जितनी ज्यादा रेस्पेक्ट आप आर्ट की करोगे उतना ही अच्छा आप आर्टिस्ट बनोगे और रही बात व्यक्तित्व के विकास की तो दूसरों को सम्मान देना हमारी संस्कृति का अभिन्न हिस्सा रहा है ।

आप देश के ऐसे पहले फिल्म समीक्षक है जो तीन अख़बार के लिये फिल्म समीक्षा लिखते है ,ऐसा जानकर कैसा लगता है आपको ?
 जी इतना तो मैंने ख़्वाबों में भी नही देखा था, मुझे सबसे ज़्यादा तो ख़ुशी तब मिलती है जब अंजान पाठक मेरे लिये  शुभकामनाएं सन्देश भेजते है और उन्हें मेरे पेरेंट्स प्राप्त करते  है ।

पिछले कुछ दिनों से डायलॉग्स के चलते आप युवाओं में काफी चर्चित हो रहे है, क्या ये डायलॉग्स आपकी निजी जिंदगी से प्रभावित है ? अगर नही तो क्या आपने अपनी निजी जिंदगी को भी लिखा है ? 

जी मैं आभार व्यक्त करता हूँ सभी पाठक वर्ग का..सभी युवाओं का जो मेरे डायलॉग्स को पसंद कर रहे है । सर अगर  निजी जिंदगी की बात करे तो हरेक इंसान के आगे विषम परिस्तिथियाँ आती हैं ,मैं भी उस दौर से गुज़रा हूँ, मैंने अपनी कहानी को 'मैं लिखता हूं' सीरीज में व्यक्त किया है जिसको कई साहित्यिक ग्रुप में सराहाना मिल चुकी है और जल्द ही एक पब्लिकेशन हाउस ने उसको प्रकाशित करने का फैसला भी किया है ।

आप अपने आने वाले उपन्यास और कहानी संग्रह के बारे में पाठकों को कुछ बताएं कि किस विषय पर आधारित हैं और क्यों ?

जी अभी तक मेरे 6 काव्य संग्रह प्रकाशित हुए है जिसमें मैंने सह लेखक की भूमिका में गीत लिखे हैं I बात आगामी किताबो की करूँ तो  एक फिक्शन स्क्रिप्ट 'PANKH - A Story of Love, Passion & Solitude ' है जिसकी रिलीज़ में स्पांसरशिप की वजह से देरी हो रही है और एक अनाम किताब और है जिसकी जानकारी अभी सार्वजानिक नही की गयी है ।


आपको इतनी कम उम्र में इतने सारे अवार्ड्स मिल चुके हैं, इसके लिए बहुत बहुत बधाईयां I मेरी शुभकामनाएं हमेशा आपके साथ रहेंगी I
